AI Chatbot Features for Drupal
1.
Automatic setup. Enter your website URL. The chatbot uses accessible content to build its initial knowledge and suggest a role and tone of voice.
2.
Answers from your content. Help visitors understand service information, published guidance, and FAQs using the sources you provide.
3.
Conversation rules. Define how the chatbot represents your organization and when a question should lead to contact with your team.
4.
Flexible appearance. Add chatbot name, avatar, adjust colors to match the design of your website. Include greetings and suggested questions to help visitors get started.
5.
Multilingual conversations. Let visitors ask questions and receive answers in their language, including people exploring your organization from abroad.
Train Your AI Chatbot on Drupal Content
Use published pages to give visitors useful answers without making them browse every section of your site. Add public URLs, upload files, or write custom Q&A for information missing from your website.
Service and program pages — Available options, requirements, and how to get started.
Articles and resource pages — Published guidance, explanations, and background information.
FAQ and policy pages — Common questions, procedures, and terms of service.
Department and contact pages — Which team to contact, opening hours, and available contact methods.
Files and custom Q&A — Preparation steps, detailed instructions, and answers not yet published.
Add up to 200 web page URLs. Choose the public pages you want the chatbot to use, regardless of their Drupal content type. Add new URLs as needed and use Retrain after updating an existing source.
Help visitors act on the information they receive.
Open a useful page — Show an action button linking to a resource, service, or Drupal page containing your existing inquiry form.
Collect contact details — Ask for a name, email, or phone number when someone needs a quote or further assistance. Keep their details with the conversation for follow-up.
Book a consultation — Connect Calendly or Cal.com so visitors can choose an available appointment time directly in the chat.
Offer human contact — Provide email, phone, or WhatsApp contact when a question needs a personal answer from your team.
Follow up during the visit — Send a message after a period of inactivity to ask whether the visitor needs more information or help with the next step.
Match the chatbot’s colors to your Drupal theme and choose its name and avatar to represent your organization. Select a floating bubble or embedded chat window and adjust its placement to fit your page layout. Add a greeting and suggested questions such as “Which service do I need?” or “How can I contact your team?” Configure the chat’s appearance in the editor and check the result on desktop and mobile.
Track AI Chatbot Conversations and Leads
See what visitors need before they contact your team or choose a service.
Conversations — Read chat histories and summaries to understand visitor questions.
Leads — Review submitted contact details with each conversation for a more informed response.
Analytics — Track chat sessions, messages, and collected leads to understand how people use the chatbot.
Review knowledge gaps to find missing information, then add the details needed to improve future answers.
How to Add an AI Chatbot to Drupal
Follow this quick guide to install your chatbot on a page or through a shared block. You’ll need permission to add the embed code and manage its placement. If you need help, our support team offers free installation.
Add the chatbot to a specific Drupal page
1.
Copy your chatbot’s installation code from the dashboard.
2.
Open Content, find the page, and click Edit.
3.
Use an administrator-approved text format and source editor that preserve the required HTML and JavaScript, then paste the code.
4.
Save the page and test the chatbot on the published website.
Add the chatbot through a Drupal block
1.
Create a content block under Content → Blocks and add the code using a format that preserves scripts.
2.
Open Structure → Block layout, place the block in a suitable region of your public theme, and hide its title.
3.
Set the block’s visibility for the pages you want, then save the layout and test it.
Tip: Menu names and editor settings vary by Drupal version. If scripts are filtered out, ask your administrator or our support team to arrange a suitable installation method.
One widget, one snippet. Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, GoDaddy, Elementor, or plain HTML — pick another platform to see how it installs there.
AI Chatbot has a free plan which includes one chatbot, 50 visitor messages per month, and 200 monthly widget views, no credit card required. Your Drupal hosting and other website costs are separate.
No dedicated Drupal chatbot module is required for the standard embed. Configure your AI Chatbot in its dashboard and add the installation code to your Drupal website. It is a visitor-facing assistant, separate from Drupal AI modules and agents used to build AI features within the CMS. Your administrator may still need to arrange how the script is loaded.
No. The standard setup learns from the public URLs and other sources you add. Publishing a new Drupal node or changing a field does not automatically update that knowledge. Add new URLs and use Retrain for updated pages. Internal field values that are not published on a source page are not imported through that URL.
When the chatbot is installed in a Drupal block, you can use the block’s visibility settings to control where and for whom it appears. This controls placement, not access to individual answers. Drupal permissions are not automatically applied to the chatbot’s knowledge, so use information appropriate for everyone who can access that chatbot.
An embed may work if the website permits the required HTML and JavaScript, but Drupal 8 reached end of life in November 2021. Use a supported Drupal release for a maintained website. Our support team can review your installation requirements without relying on an old Drupal-specific chatbot module.
