Overview
A demo, a webinar or a how-to often explains what the website only mentions. YouTube Videos is a knowledge source in AI Chatbot: paste a public video link and the agent trains on it next to your pages, files and answers.
AI Chatbot writes a short summary of the video and stores the transcript when YouTube provides one. The agent answers from that text. It does not watch the video again while someone is chatting. Open the video in the widget to read the summary and the transcript it is using.
What you can do
These are the jobs the integration is built for.
Answer from a product demo
Visitors ask about a feature the demo walks through, and the agent answers from that video.
Teach a tutorial or a webinar
Steps and explanations in a recording become answers, without rewriting the video as a page.
Cover what the website leaves out
A public video can fill a gap the pages, files and Q&A pairs do not already explain.
Set up
YouTube Videos lives under Knowledge in your AI Chatbot widget. It is available on the Pro plan and above, and it is not a separate app to connect.
- Open your AI Chatbot widget and go to Knowledge → YouTube Videos.
- Click Add Video and paste a public YouTube link. A watch URL, a youtu.be link, a Short, or a live URL works. A channel or playlist link does not.
- Wait until training finishes, then open the video. The summary and transcript shown there are what the agent answers from.
Added videos stay under Knowledge → YouTube Videos. Open one to review the summary and transcript, or remove it to take it out of the agent's knowledge.
Requirements
- An AI Chatbot widget on the Pro plan or above.
- A public YouTube video. The same video cannot be added twice, and an agent can hold up to 10.
- Room in your plan's character storage. The summary and transcript count toward it.
